![]() Some kinetic is required as always, but don't forget the HE.Ĥ) Bring EMP damage on your allies. Stations have unusually high armor and hull, and it does very little good to drive an individual module's shield to high flux but not get good armor/hull damage in before being forced to retreat. HILs, Hephaestus Assault Guns, Heavy Mortars, Assault Chainguns (!!!!). Missile slots are both more reliable and higher powered than bombers for the price you pay to get them, and the fact that they are limited in ammo doesn't matter against a station.ģ) Go heavy on high DPS, HE weapons (or high damage/shot energy). Alternatively, 3x Sabot Pods will either blast down the shields or disable the weaponry, giving you time to vent and/or kill. ![]() A Dominator with 3x Annihilator Pods, or 3x Typhoon Reapers, can carry a lot of HE death in a tough package. High powered expendable resources are ideal weapons, and stations are an ideal target. Stations are tough beasts that spew death, but there is only one of them. You don't need to completely overwhelm a station with them - their purpose is shield damage and distraction, letting the heavy hitters get in close without taking bad hits.Ģ) Use missiles/torpedoes/rockets. I honestly prefer Broadswords + Combat ships over bombers for killing stations: bombers are too inconsistent and take too much time. They keep their shields at high flux, distract the PD, and draw heavy weapons fire like crazy. My tips:ġ) Broadswords are excellent against stations because of how they let ships get their punches in. Since then I've discovered better ways to kill stations. (Of course, if the player is flying an Onslaught, Pather fleets literally do not matter, except as convenient extra supplies at the end of the fight.) The first time (last version) I took on a Pather station was with 2 Onslaughts and 2 Dominators, because I just decided to overwhelm the thing with big heavy hitters. ![]() Your fleet is on the small side to be able to take it on, and Destroyers/Frigates are not worth very much, because they just can't tank the kind of concentrated firepower that a station module can dish out. Regarding your particular station: Pather Stations at level 2 are legit hard targets.
